St. Louis Catholic School is seeking to hire a full time School Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year.St. Louis Catholic School is a Kindergarten through 8th grade school, centrally located in Alexandria. We are dedicated to academic excellence, faith formation, and character development. Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our students. The counselor will work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administration to promote a positive school culture, provide individual and group counseling, and implement programs that foster student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Develop and implement programs to promote mental health, conflict resolution, and positive decision-making.
Support students in developing coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and resilience.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs and create intervention plans.
Support the Catholic identity and mission of the school in all aspects of the counseling program.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Valid state certification/licensure as a School Counselor.
Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
