Job Description

Collaborate with the Pastor in developing the vision and mission of the Parish. Direct all Faith Formation initiatives in fostering a culture of discipleship across the life cycle. Oversee an evangelizing Family Faith Formation initiative that accompanies the entire family to develop a closer relationship to God, Jesus Christ, and the Church. Help parishioners to mature in Christ and discover their personal gifts and abilities with which God has blessed them.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

Director Lifelong Formation:
•Provide insight and direction into each area of faith formation (Young Family, Youth, Adult, etc)
•Assist pastor in synthesizing all initiatives into one common vision for lifelong formation.
•Encourage collaboration among different parish and school initiatives.
•Oversee a pre-evangelization and kerygmatic Family Faith Formation experience
•Coordinate OCIA team & adult formation initiatives
•Oversee a pre-evangelization and kerygmatic Family Faith Formation experience
•Foster a culture of discipleship that integrates parishioners and non-parishioners deeper into the parish community and liturgical life of the church.
•Develop pre-evangelization "onramps' for adults/young adults of the Parish

Director of Family Faith Formation
•Direct a Family Faith Formation initiative for all families up to Confirmation.
•Offer catechetical instruction and formation for all catechists.
•Co-organize and manage sacramental preparation.
•Coordinate Children's Liturgy of the Word and Pray and Play volunteers
•Lead an Inclusive Family Faith Formation program
•Be available to meet one-on-one with all new families and hold periodic check-ins with all families.
•Communicate with parents via e-mail, monthly newsletter, parent meetings, website.
•Manage a budget and expenses for catechetical programs, work with office manager regarding reimbursement of all expenses.
•Update and manage a database of family information including attendance and contact info.
•Write/submit bulletin messages with information about the Family Faith Formation Initiative
•Maintain communication with the Diocese's Catechetical Office.

Required Qualifications:
•An active and deep faith.
•Full participation in the communal worship and life of the Church.
•Strong desire to work with children and families to guide and develop a deeper faith and relationship with Jesus Christ
•Certified/educated in Religious Education and Formation or a willingness to take courses in Religious Education Formation
•Experience working with and teaching both children and adults
•Openness to suggestions and guidance from parish staff and others
•Reliable and respectful
•Strong collaborator with children, parents, and parish staff members
•Creative, flexible and enthusiastic
•Able to maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate and familiar with laws and regulations relevant to working with children.
•Understanding of Catholic Church structure, culture, teachings, and family catechesis
•Understanding of current youth culture, trends and issues.
•Understanding of current developments and best practices in adult formation
•Working knowledge of database management

Preferred Qualifications:
•M.A. or advanced degree in Theology, Pastoral Studies, or related field.
•Certification in Religious Education and Formation.
•Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 and Google Suite
•Managing budgets and monthly reconciling of funds.
