Graphic Designer

Job Description

The Catholic Diocese of Wichita is seeking an exceptional individual to serve as full-time Graphic Designer. This individual will develop and execute creative concepts that reflect the beauty and identity of the Catholic Church in support of the mission, pastoral plans, and communication tools of the Catholic Diocese of Wichita and its institutions and agencies. The Graphic Designer serves as a creative professional and consultant, helping diocesan departments translate communication goals into effective visual solutions across print and digital platforms, all in service of the Church mission.

It is expected that candidates will have the following qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field. Prefer four years of experience
• Knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of digital art, graphic design, layout and illustration
• Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, and experience with graphics software programs and electronic desktop publishing equipment and techniques
• Strong project management skills and experience working with commercial printers
• Passionate practitioner of innovative and beautiful graphic design
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and collaborate in a team environment
• Ability to help all diocesan departments and institutions communicate effectively through visual media
• Attention to detail, customer service orientation and the ability to work within, and meet, tight deadlines
• Knowledge and understanding of Catholic teachings
• Practicing Catholic in good standing and an active steward in one's parish integrating and witnessing the Catholic faith through daily work and service
