Job Description
The Catholic Diocese of Wichita, is seeking an outstanding self-motivated individual to serve as Director of Development and Planned Giving. This individual serves as the senior leader responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all philanthropic initiatives within the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. Guided by strong Catholic values, the mission of the Diocese of Wichita and Stewardship as a Way of Life, this individual promotes a culture of stewardship and generosity across parishes, schools, and ministries. The Director oversees fundraising programs, donor relations, capital campaigns, and planned giving efforts to support the spiritual and financial vitality of the Diocese.Qualifications for this opening include the following:
- Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church who embraces and models the mission of evangelization and stewardship
- Bachelor's degree in Philanthropy, Fundraising, Nonprofit Management, Marketing or other related degrees
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and development leadership, preferably within a faith-based or nonprofit organization
- Proven success leading capital campaigns, cultivating major gifts, and building donor relationships, and annual giving programs
- Strong strategic, managerial, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clergy and laity
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency with donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credentials preferred
- Quick-paced, reliable professional who is respectful of the traditions and mission of the diocese
- Must possess superior skills in project management, planning, and organization
- Proven experience in establishing, expanding, and maintaining strong relationships with external donors and internal team members
- Possess initiative to constantly seek ways to improve fundraising results within budget parameters
