Multi-Parish Director of Faith Formation (Catechetical Leader)

Full Time (35 hours per week) - must have ability to work weekends and afternoons

Salaried Exempt :begins at: $60,406.00/annual

Reports to:
• Fr. John Firpo, Pastor St. Charles Borromeo
• Fr. Lee Chase, Pastor St. Lawrence
• Fr. William Coffas, Pastor Holy Cross and Our Mother of Sorrows

Position Summary:
The Multi Parish Director of Faith Formation works closely with each pastors to direct all aspects of four parish faith formation programs. Specifically responsible for: elementary age faith formation which includes a family faith formation program, First Penance and First Communion programs, some baptismal preparation, overseeing the OCIA team, and working with multiple parish ministers, staff and volunteers to carry out an effective and dynamic catechetical program.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Faith Formation
o Family Faith Formation
o Baptismal preparation (minimal)
• Oversee OCIA team
• sacramental preparation for school-aged children grades K - 7.
o Vacation Bible School,
o Summer Faith Formation program for grades 1 - 7,
• school year Faith Formation program grades K - 7
o First Holy Communion and First Penance preparation programs.

• Act as a consultant working with St. Lawrence School Principal regarding Religious Education curriculum within the school.
• Meet with each pastor regularly to provide updates
• Update parish websites, communicate and coordinate registrations for programs
• Provides support and guidance to pastors, catechists, deacons, evangelization teams, and other interested groups on the principles of evangelization and planning; assists parishes to form teams and support them with training in order to carry out effective evangelization programs and initiatives;
• follows-up and monitors the effectiveness of programs to ensure that these programs are ongoing while working toward continuous improvement. Shares best practices with those participating parishes.
• Reviews curriculum, models, and methods of catechesis, and provides opportunities for continuing education and skill-building to professionals and volunteers in catechetical ministry.
• Must have ability to work weekends and afternoons 4-8 p.m.

• Full Time Office Assistant
• Part-time Director of Youth Ministry
• Volunteer Catechist Teachers and Aides

Qualifications:
• Practicing Roman Catholic
• Certified Catechetical Leader
• Preferred: Advanced degree in theology, religious education or Pastoral Ministry
• 1-2 years' experience faith formation ministry or previous experience as a catechesis and or in evangelization
• Must have excellent computer skills
• Skilled in written and spoken communication
• Experienced in leading, overseeing and or managing a program
• Must insures the integration of Parish and Diocesan Safe Environment policies and procedures.
• Must have ability to travel to and from each parish location
