Job Description
Provides support to parishes in their work with adults in their 20s and30s. Creates and runs programs that provide formation opportunities to young adults throughout the Diocese. The Diocese of Madison is undergoing strategic mission-driven reorganization. We are seeking individuals who are willing to be creative and flexible to help fulfill Christ's mission to Go Make Disciples (Mt. 28.)Essential Job Functions:
Young Adult
• Build and maintain relationships with priests, parish staff members, and volunteers who work with young adults to create a culture of making young adult disciples.
• Support for Young Adult Retreat.
• Support of the Young Adult Sports League.
• Support of parish based Young Adult formation and activities.
• Management of St. Gianna House.
• Run Diocesan wide social and formation events with the women from the St. Gianna House (Weekly young adult formation opportunities).
Relationships and Communication
• Communicate and support parishes in the diocesan implementation of the Gospel mandate to Go Make Disciples (Mt. 28).
• Build and maintain relationships with DREs and youth ministers who work with teens.
• Build and maintain relationships with priests, to assist them in their work with teens.
• Regular communications with DREs, youth ministers, and priests regarding teen formation and events.
• Participate in annual visioning and planning for teen formation in parishes (Bosco Bash).
• Collaboration with Camp Gray staff.
• Participate in the planning and vision for Middle and High School formation along with Coordinator and youth formation board.
In collaboration with the OEC:
• Participate in the implementation (support) annual convocation.
• Participate in and help facilitate regional gatherings and spring meetings, when needed.
• Participate in and help facilitate Getting Started, when needed.
• Support OEC evangelization efforts regarding Into the Deep and Go Make Disciples
Direct Outreach and Events
• Direct Love Begins Here.
o Prepare all logistics for summer programming.
o Recruit and hire and train summer ministry team.
• Run Frassati Fest.
o Prepare all logistics and planning for High School Youth Conference.
• Run teen leadership formation, alongside preparation for Frassati Fest.
Required Competencies:
• Must personally and joyfully seek to know, love and serve Jesus Christ through active participation in the life of the Catholic Church;
• Must publicly profess and strive to follow Catholic teachings as proclaimed by the Magisterium of the Church;
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to collaborate effectively and joyfully with people from diverse backgrounds;
• General familiarity with all facets of corporate operations, including business, legal, facility and personnel management.
• Excellent command of basic office related computer programs (Word/Pages/Docs, Excel/Numbers/Sheets, etc.) on Microsoft, Apple, and Google platforms.
• Proficient command of design programs (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
• Understanding of curriculum creation, sound catechetical principals, and Catholic theology.
• Excellent command of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and podcasts.
Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Related Field (Education or Catholic Theology).
• Parish Youth Formation Work (3 - 5 years).
Travel Requirements:
• Visit parishes for classes, talks, or trainings throughout the year.
• Weekend event commitments during throughout the year.
