Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Specialist to help support the growing needs of our Admissions and Development departments.POSITION SUMMARY
The person who best fits this position has a high degree of attention to detail, communicates well (oral and written), adapts and transitions between needs quickly and efficiently, and easily translates direction into action. This person should demonstrate a thoughtful approach to best practices and standard operating procedures, realizing the need for both consistency and creativity. Furthermore, the ideal candidate is able to perform a variety of administrative tasks, including report generation, workflow design, database building/upkeep, and more. The position is located in Steubenville, OH.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with ongoing communication with applicants and students
- Maintain student records, including academics, training verifications, policy sign-offs, etc.
- Assist in building tradesman network by researching and contacting identified companies/individuals
- Produce academic transcripts, enrollment verification letters, etc. in support of students
- Record and process incoming donations
- Generate prompt donor acknowledgements and thank you letters, including creating special touches for donors who meet certain stewardship criteria (e.g. annual, lifetime, or legacy giving).
- Take primary responsibility for Raiser's Edge database including maintaining accurate constituent records, generating reports and mailing lists, and creating tasks for follow up with donors.
- Maintain and execute a calendar of communications that includes, at a minimum, a twice annual newsletter and monthly blast emails for benefactors to the college.
- Assist in scheduling travel arrangements.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Faithfully Catholic, submits to Church authority in all Her teachings
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to operate independently with minimal direction/supervision
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of Blackbaud software is a plus

The College of St. Joseph the Worker is a Catholic institute of higher learning within the diocese of Steubenville that simultaneously trains students in the Catholic intellectual tradition to earn a BA degree as well as in the skilled trades.A small, tight-knit group of tradesmen, academics, and administrators run the college in downtown Steubenville, OH. We offer very flexible and no set limit to vacation time. All Catholic solemnities are meant to be days off-and so they are. We don't have a ping-pong table at the office, but you could build one as all employees have free access to the woodshop.
