Job Description

Communication Coordinator - St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee is seeking a full time Communications Coordinator. The Communication Coordinator will coordinate and support the St. Joseph Campus with communication projects. This position will work closely with the school Principal, EEC Director and Parish Office to develop and implement communications strategies, media relations, social and digital media, article writing, video production, advertising/marketing initiatives, and other communication support as needed. A successful candidate should be Catholic, with strong relationship skills and the ability to work in a collaborative setting. The overall goal for this position is to promote St. Joseph Catholic Campus as the go-to source for relevant, reliable, evidenced-based information. Essential Duties:

•Supports creation of the St. Joseph strategic goals through collaboration with Leadership team on development of internal and external communication strategies, campus goals and implements with limited or no direct oversight; directs marketing and web content ; oversees communication and relationships with School, Early Education Center and Parish Office, this includes: promotional videos, and digital media outlets; trains or coaches principal, Director and Parish Office at all levels in appropriate media relations; serves as St. Joseph Public Information Officer (PIO); participates with Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas Communication Coordinator and other neighboring parishes in group calls, meetings and initiatives; manages Web Content, auction communication, social media and website communications; organize online events includes outreach and sharing toolkits, writes and approves news releases, media advisories, featured articles and press materials
•Develops and implements plans for short and long-term marketing strategies; develops strategies through capital campaigns, produces and evaluates promotional messaging/materials that communicate the values of St. Joseph Catholic Campus; maintains and develops and oversees ; collaborates with IT to implement marketing, picture, and retrieval database or system that includes prospect and parish, school and EEC information, access to documents and reports, emails invitations and invitation list.
•Establishes and maintains all St. Joseph communication policies and ensures collaboration with Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas communication policies. Develop and maintain a comprehensive community engagement plan; focal point and coordinator of external organizational speaking engagement requests
•Works with Human Resource to keep sensitive information in a confidential manner. Process and distribute sensitive and public information with respect to St. Joseph workplace ethical considerations and in a professional manner.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Associates degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or relevant field; five (5) years of experience with public communication and/or development of strategic marketing plans;

Education/Experience Substitutions:
Experience may be substituted for degree. Education may be substituted for experience.
