Job Description
The St. Jerome Institute is looking to hire a teacher of Mathematics for the 2026-2027 school year. The Mathematics teacher will lead students more fully into reality by helping them discover the language of number. From number theory to Euclidean proofs, from ciphers to quadratic functions, this eminently mysterious, yet artfully practical journey will help prepare the minds - and hearts - of students to view reality as knowable yet not conquerable. The successful candidate will unite competence in a range of mathematics with a childlike sense of wonder for the world of number - and what it reveals.
SJI possesses a remarkable school culture of joy, order, faithfulness, and academic rigor. SJI is seeking candidates who know their subjects deeply and are capable of guiding students to virtue and leading them into the full maturity of Christian adulthood. About the Employer
St. Jerome Institute (SJI) is a classical liberal arts high school that reinvented traditional education to meet the challenges of our time. We are expanding our DC campus and opening a new campus in Northern Virginia Fall of 2026, which is seeking in its founding year to bring into being in a new location what we have already proven possible at our DC campus: that joy and order can thrive together in harmony, that faith and reason are meant to work together, and that humility and the pursuit of excellence are the calling of all young people. Our curriculum opens the most fundamental questions of the human heart at the very moment when young men and women are longing to understand themselves and their place in the world.
