Job Description

House Director

Reports to: Vice Principal of Student Formation and Leadership Job Status: Full-time, 10-month, exempt
Compensation Information: Salary range $75,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for benefits (medical, dental, vision), generous PTO and holiday schedule, 401(k) savings plan with school match, higher education tuition reimbursement, and 50 % tuition remission for employee's children attending JSerra.
Description: JSerra Catholic High School is looking for a House Director to supervise its inaugural House system and ensure the program aligns with the Mission of the school. The ideal candidate for this position will be a faithful Catholic who enjoys working with high school-aged students, has strong communication skills and a robust work ethic, the ability to be collaborative, energetic, positive, and enthusiastic. Prior experience in program design and/or curriculum development is desired.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with School Leadership in the structure and design of the House program, and review annually as needed
• Coordinate and facilitate all House-related activities (house selection, home room activities and curricula, house assemblies, competitions, service projects, point system, and fundraising)
• Direct the House Council leadership comprised of House Deans, Mentor Teachers, and student leadership from each house to ensure House related activities are successful
• Participate in regular meetings with the Vice Principal of Student Leadership and Formation to review house system program
• Serve on Planning Council, and Student Formation Team (Activities and Campus Ministry) which meets weekly during the school year to conduct ongoing planning
• Prepare and supervise the annual budget for the department program
• Oversee all Houses and House Deans and provide evaluation as needed
• Provide input and support for Activities Director and Campus Minister
• Coordinate House schedules with Administration to ensure effective schoolwide calendaring
• Provide photos/info to Marketing Department for social media
• Participate in school in-service education meetings and training courses
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Administration

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Excellence interpersonal communication skills including writing and speaking
• Proficiency in the development of curriculum at the secondary level
• Familiarity with a house system structure is desirable
• Prior administrative experience is desirable

Education & Experienced
• Bachelor of Arts degree
• Master of Arts preferred
• Mentor and advising experience
• Coaching or athletic event experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Position requires the ability to perform occasional light lifting and carrying; occasional standing and walking; and sitting for prolonged periods of time. Occasional hand use and finger dexterity needed to use computer keyboard and operate standard office equipment; occasional pushing, pulling, grasping, and reaching may also be required. Good hearing is required when communicating on the telephone or in person.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment described herein is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job. Primarily office environment with controlled temperature conditions and exposure to environmental factors and hazardous physical substances are minimal and pose little to no risk of injury. Occasional driving to meetings and/or events may be required.
