Job Description
The Director of Annual Giving and Communications is responsible for the planning, execution, and management of the school's annual fundraising efforts and advancement operations, including the 1959 Fund, events, communications, and donor engagement systems. This role ensures the consistent and effective execution of advancement activities that support the mission and financial sustainability of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School. The director provides direction and guidance to the president and advisory board and is responsible directly to the president This is a 12.0-month, exempt position that requires occasional evening and weekend hours.Core Responsibilities:
Serves as a member of the school's management group in directing fundraising activities for the school; works collaboratively with the advisory board to develop short and long-term planning for advancement
Develops and implements a comprehensive and goal oriented 1959 Fund giving program aimed at all Bishop constituents; Leads Bishop Gives, appeals, and participation initiatives
Maintains and regularly updates constituent database and manages the day-to-day functions of the advancement office (including preparing and monitoring the annual operating budget of the office)
Leads and oversees annual events including Lumina (auction) and Villains Classic (golf tournament), ensuring mission-alignment and fiscal responsibility
Develops and implements a comprehensive constituent relations program, including parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends of Bishop McGuinness, ensuring that some recognition/cultivation activity is taking place for each constituency on an annual basis
Coordinates and supports the activities and programs of the Bishop McGuinness Family Association (BMFA)
Ensures that major publications and other communications properly support strategic efforts essential to sustaining the school's competitive position and long-term strength
Internally collaborates and supports the work of advancement office and admissions/marketing
Qualifications:
A strong belief in Catholic education and support of the mission of the school
A bachelor's degree and experience in fundraising/advancement/donor relations (5+ years)
High level of organization, excellent communication skills, and enthusiastic/dynamic personality
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and interact with a variety of constituents
Knowledge of database management, professional code of ethical conduct in maintaining standards of competence and confidentiality
Willingness to grow professionally
