The Coordinator for the Office of Family, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry within the Institute for Evangelization supports and advances the Church's evangelizing mission through a catechumenal approach to ministry that forms disciples and strengthens the domestic church. This position works collaboratively with office staff, clergy, parish leaders, and volunteers to develop, implement, and support initiatives in family faith formation, OCIA, and intergenerational discipleship.
The ideal candidate brings substantial parish ministry experience, strong catechetical formation, and a demonstrated passion for evangelization, accompaniment, and lifelong faith formation.
Essential Functions:
Evangelization & Catechumenal Ministry
Collaborate with office staff to design and implement initiatives rooted in a catechumenal approach that fosters conversion, discipleship, and ongoing formation across all stages of life.
Support parishes in implementing evangelization-focused models of family faith formation and OCIA.
Promote pastoral practices that prioritize accompaniment, missionary outreach, and integration into parish life.
Family Faith Formation & Domestic Church
Assist in curating resources and strategies that equip parents and caregivers as the primary catechists of their children.
Support intergenerational and family-centered faith formation frameworks that nurture the domestic church.
Provide guidance, formation, and consultation to parish leaders and catechists engaged in family faith formation.
Catechumenal Ministry (OCIA/RCIA)
Support parish OCIA teams by providing formation opportunities and best practices to foster a parish culture that fruitfully welcomes and accompanies seekers and inquirers.
Promote approaches that integrate catechesis, liturgy, community life, and meaningful service into every stage of the catechumenate.
Assist in fostering a parish culture that welcomes and accompanies seekers and inquirers
Collaboration & Administration
Work collaboratively with the Office of Family, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry and Institute for Evangelization staff on diocesan and parish-wide initiatives.
Assist in planning, executing, and evaluating programs, workshops, and formation events.
Communicate regularly with parish leaders, catechetical leaders, and ministry stakeholders
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Catechetics, or a related field is required.
Minimum of three years of professional parish ministry experience, preferably in family faith formation, OCIA, or catechetical leadership. An additional two years of such experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Solid knowledge of Catholic theology and catechesis, including familiarity with Church documents related to evangelization, catechesis, and the catechumenate.
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated intercultural competency.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
This position requires some evening and weekend work.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $65,000, annualized
