PREP ASSOCIATE - PART-TIME
St. Thomas the Apostle Parish | Old Bridge, New Jersey

St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Old Bridge, New Jersey, is seeking a qualified, dependable, and highly organized Part-Time PREP Associate to support our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP). Reporting directly to the Parish Catechetical Leader, this position plays an integral role in the daily operation of the program and the faith formation of our parish children and families. The ideal candidate will bring professionalism, initiative, discretion, flexibility, and a spirit of service to this important ministry.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide administrative and program support for the daily operation of the PREP Office.
• Assist with registration, class placement, attendance, student records, correspondence, and parent communications.
• Support catechists, aides, substitutes, and volunteers with schedules, materials, resources, and classroom needs.
• Provide on-site support during PREP sessions, including attendance, arrival and dismissal, classroom needs, and family communication.
• Assist with Sacraments and all Sacramental preparation, retreats, family faith formation activities, Vacation Bible Camp, Children's Liturgy of the Word, and other PREP and parish programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be a practicing Catholic who supports the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.
• Experience in a Religious Education program.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of ParishSOFT is a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE
Hours during PREP Year:
• Monday: 9:30 AM-3:30 PM
• Tuesday: 9:30 AM-6:00 PM
• Thursday: 11:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Selected Sundays: Children's Liturgy of the Word at the 10:00 AM Mass
Additional evening and weekend hours will be required for registration, parent meetings, sacramental preparation, rehearsals and celebrations, retreats, Vacation Bible Camp, and other PREP or parish events. Flexibility is required, particularly during sacramental seasons.
