Job Description
OverviewThe Associate Director of Formation is part of the residential programming staff in Big Sandy. They serve the entire operations of The Pines as a catechetical programming resource and coordinator of formation for seasonal staff, which includes missionaries (~August through April) and summer staff (~May through August). With regard to catechesis and formation, they are the counterpart to the Day Camp Associate Director and serve in a highly collaborative role, working closely with all programming staff.
What You'll Do
-Lead for all Catechetical Programming in Big Sandy
-Provide Catechetical Scope & Sequence for All Retreats
-In Conjunction with Other Residential Staff, Share Responsibility as the "Leader on Duty" on a
-Scheduled Rotation throughout the Year, which Includes Weekends
-Camp Sacristan
-Assist with Recruitment of Priests/ Religious, Missionaries, Summer Staff
-Assist with Interviews for Missionaries & Summer Staff
-Provide Individualized Formation Plans for Seasonal Staff
-Assist with Alive Again Staff Retreat
-Assist with Program Retreats (Mother+Daughter Retreat, Family Camps)
-Planning Missionary Orientation & Training for Missionary Training
-Ongoing Missionary Formation: Weekly 1 on 1's, Formation Meetings, Spring Semester Retreat
-Assist with Summer Staff Orientation & Training
-Provide Spiritual Formation for Summer Staff
-Directly Supervise Head Male, Head Female, and Music & Liturgy Counselor during Summer Camp
-Coordinate Special Guests (Priests/ Religious, Musicians, Speakers, and Nurses) including Scheduling,
Booking, Communications, and Hospitality
-Head Ropes Certification
-Assist with Summer Programming Scope
-Assist with Program Retreats (Family Camps & Mother+Daughter)
-Assist Summer Camp Cabinizing (Assigning Campers to Cabins)
Qualitifcations
-Bachelor's degree in Theology, Catechetics, or Related Field
-2+ years in professional ministry
Compensation
Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
