NEWMAN CATHOLIC STUDENT CENTER

POSITION: Facility Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Hourly, Non- Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall care, maintenance, and operation of the Newman Catholic Student Center buildings and grounds. This position ensures that the facility is safe, clean, welcoming, and fully functional in support of the Center's mission and daily activities.

All staff are considered part of the missionary team of the Newman Catholic Student Center for the purpose of making disciples for the Church and the world. MISSION EXPECTATIONS

• Be a supporting/contributing/collaborating member of the ministry team.
• Contribute to the planning and mission of the Newman Center.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Building & Grounds Maintenance
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of the building and property
• Perform basic repairs and coordinate larger repairs with outside vendors
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security systems
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
• Maintain and update a maintenance and replacement schedule for all equipment, HVAC system, phone system, technology systems, etc.
• Maintain a schedule for facility updates (Painting, carpeting, window replacement, furniture, etc.) including all areas of the Center and the O'Keefe building.
• Schedule and oversee all building and equipment inspections.
• Assist building residents and staff with maintenance projects or problems as needed.

Event & Room Setup
• Assist with room setups and takedowns for meetings, Masses, and special events
• Ensure spaces are clean, organized, and ready for use
• Remain on site for non-Newman Center events such as funerals, weddings, Korean Mass, etc.
(may require evening or weekend hours)

Vendor & Contractor Management
• Schedule and supervise contractors and service providers
• Obtain bids for special projects
• Manage service agreements as needed
• Create a plan/schedule with for completion of necessary maintenance and repairs in a timely manner, discern which tasks need to be outsourced.

Safety & Security
• Monitor building security systems and key access
• Oversee Security Team
• Assist in development and implementation of emergency procedures
• Maintain worker safety regulations and conduct regular inspections according to local, state, and federal requirements.

Budget & Inventory
• Assists Director of Operations in development and management of the facilities budget
• Track maintenance, custodial, and groundskeeping expenses and supplies
• Order and maintain necessary maintenance, custodial, and groundskeeping supplies and equipment

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
• Practicing Catholic.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years' experience in facility management, maintenance, carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
• Self-starter who can organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Proficiency in computer technology
• Flexible schedule including some evening and weekend duties
