High School Theology Teacher

Job Description

Bishop Moore Catholic High School is seeking a full-time Theology teacher who is passionate about their Catholic faith and desires to journey with students in their own walk of faith.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Will have a strong academic background in Catholic theology and be able to communicate, model, and promote the Catholic faith as articulated in the Scripture, Tradition, and Magisterium of the Church.
Exemplify commitment to the spiritual life through daily personal prayer as well as frequent participation in the Sacraments; and will be able to model, teach, and form the same in their students.
Demonstrate strong skills for relational ministry; will provide a compelling and relatable personal witness for high school students, will be able to make course material relevant and compelling to students' lives, and will build healthy relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Demonstrate curriculum knowledge and the ability to follow standards-based instruction in a resourceful manner, to plan and deliver engaging learning opportunities and activities for maximum effectiveness.
Be proficient in the daily use and integration of technology in the educational environment as Bishop Moore Catholic High School is a 1:1 iPad school.
Be a skilled communicator and can work effectively with students, parents, peers, administrators, and others.
Have the ability to assess levels of student achievement, analyze test results, and deliver instruction to varied learners.

Qualifications:

Must successfully pass the Diocesan Safe Environment Training and Background Screening process.

Must be a faithful practicing Catholic.
A Master's level degree in theology is preferred; relevant experience may be substituted for some education, so long as the applicant demonstrates a strong background in theology. Non-degree-related catechetical or theological formation may also be considered.
Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check.
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Ability to manage personnel.
Ability to implement policy and procedures.
Ability to interpret data.
Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness.
