Job Description

Neumann University is currently seeking a qualified applicant for the full-time position of Campus Minister for Community & Belonging.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating community-building initiatives, accompanying student leaders, supporting interfaith engagement, and helping students become connected to the life of Campus Ministry and the University.
Provide pastoral care and spiritual support to students, fostering an environment of welcome, inclusion, and belonging.
Maintain a visible and approachable presence among students throughout the University community.
Develop and coordinate programs that promote community, hospitality, friendship, and meaningful student engagement.
Coordinate Campus Ministry participation in New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, involvement fairs, accepted student events, and other University engagement opportunities.
Develop intentional outreach to first-year, transfer, commuter, international, graduate, and other students who may experience difficulty becoming connected to campus life.
Coordinate, supervise, and provide ongoing formation for Community Peer Ministers and other assigned student leaders.
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate students serving in Campus Ministry leadership positions.
Assist student leaders in developing programs responsive to the needs and interests of the student body.
Coordinate community meals, social gatherings, hospitality initiatives, small groups, and other opportunities through which students can build relationships.
Create welcoming opportunities before and after Sunday Masses, prayer services, retreats, and major Campus Ministry events.
Support interfaith activities and promote a culture of respect and understanding among students of different religious traditions and beliefs.
Collaborate with Residence Life, Student Affairs, Athletics, Student Government Association, academic departments, and other University offices to strengthen student belonging and engagement.
Assist in the planning and execution of retreats, evenings of reflection, service projects, immersion experiences, liturgical celebrations, and major Campus Ministry programs.
Provide outreach and pastoral support to students experiencing loneliness, homesickness, grief, transition, or other personal challenges, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
Maintain and update Campus Ministry social media platforms and assist with student communications.
Assist in the development of advertising and marketing materials to promote Campus Ministry programs and opportunities.
Maintain participation records, student contact lists, program calendars, and other information necessary for effective student follow-up.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in theology/religious studies or a related field.
Knowledge of Franciscan spirituality preferred.
Knowledge of Catholic Liturgy and ritual.
Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and function as a team member.
Experience in ministry with a diverse population of students.
Strong Catholic faith commitment.
Ability to appreciate, support, and enhance interfaith relationships on campus.
Candidates must possess an understanding of, appreciation for, and congruence with the Catholic Franciscan mission of the University.
