Job Description
Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata, a joyfully Catholic, classical, co-educational high school in Framingham serving grades 9-12, seeks faithful and talented educators with a passion for Catholic classical education to serve as part-time substitute faculty members.If added to our substitute list, candidates may be called upon for sudden needs due to teacher illness or scheduled in advance for pre-planned absences of full or partial days. There are also full-week substitute opportunities available in April and May for those interested in a more extended assignment.
Courses may include:
Mathematics
Science
Humanities (Theology, History, Literature, Latin, Philosophy)
Fine Arts and Music
Physical Education
Qualifications
A bachelor's or master's degree in a related disciplinary field is required.
Passion for Catholic classical education, with experience preferred. Candidates need not be experts in every subject area but must be willing to closely follow provided lesson plans.
Candidate must be a practicing Catholic willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium.
Candidates must possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Candidates should have experience contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.
Responsibilities
Deliver lessons from Chesterton Schools Network curriculum lesson plans as instructed by the teacher you are filling in for.
Attend daily Mass with the student body if working a full day
Serve as a positive role model in the Catholic faith and participate in the formation of students.
Salary and Benefits
Compensation is competitive and paid on a per-diem basis for full or partial days worked.
