Job Description
Position Title: Middle School History and Religion TeacherStructured around the liturgical year and the celebration of the saints, Prince of Peace Catholic School serves the thriving Catholic Community in the East side of Greenville. Our daily life includes prayer, the reading of scripture, or the study of the Church. Our week centers on the Eucharist and common participation in the liturgy every Wednesday morning. Our work is supported by the prayers of our community before the blessed sacrament in the perpetual adoration chapel. These together encompass the soul of Catholic learning at Prince of Peace Catholic School.
Classification: Full-Time Reports To: Principal
Position Summary: Prince of Peace Catholic School is seeking a passionate, faith-filled, and collaborative educator to join their middle school team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a caring and engaging classroom environment that supports both academic and spiritual growth in the subjects of History and Religion.
Job Responsibilities:
• Create and implement lesson plans that promote an engaging, positive, and
interactive learning environment.
• Prepare, administer, and evaluate classroom assessments.
• Collaborate and communicate with other teachers regarding student success.
• Review and respond to collected data regarding areas of student strength and
areas of improvement.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development seminars, and other
meetings as assigned.
• Implement and follow school policies and procedures.
• Perform administrative duties such as but not limited to; grading, discipline,
supervision, etc.
• Communicate well with parents on students' progress
Requirements: Every employee in the Catholic School is a religion teacher and expected, in word and behavior, to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
• The teacher will be a practicing Catholic in good standing, consistent at all times, in example and expression, with the tenets and morals of the Catholic Faith.
• The teacher will provide a safe and developmentally appropriate academic program, in accordance with Diocesan and school policies and procedures.
• Teaching experience and certification are required.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: This position involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, using hands and feet, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching above shoulders. The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds to transport school supplies/materials is needed. Basic technical skills such as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to operate computers, copiers, and printers are needed.
