Job Description
The RoleWe are seeking a Magazine Editor who feels called to bring stories of faith to life. This role is responsible for overseeing the production of four quarterly issues each year. More than managing deadlines, this is an opportunity to curate content that encourages, challenges, and uplifts and informs Legatus members and Catholic leaders across the country.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead editorial planning, story development, and production for four quarterly issues per year.
- Develop an editorial calendar that aligns with Legatus' mission and timely Catholic themes.
- Assign, edit, and review articles for clarity, accuracy, style, and alignment with Catholic teaching.
- Collaborate with contributors, photographers, and graphic designers to create a publication that is both visually engaging and inspiring in content.
- Manage production schedules, deadlines, and vendor relationships (printers, mail houses, freelancers).
- Oversee proofreading, fact-checking, and final review of each issue to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Partner with internal teams to integrate magazine content with broader organizational initiatives.
- Manage the magazine budget and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.
- Continually assess and improve content to strengthen reader engagement and member value.
- Ensure each issue reflects Legatus' mission of forming ambassadors for Christ in the marketplace who study, live, and spread the faith.
- Lead a redesign of the magazine to launch Q2 2026.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of editorial experience, preferably in magazine publishing.
- Exceptional editing, proofreading, and content development skills.
- Strong understanding of Catholic faith and issues relevant to Catholic business leaders.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage contributors and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with publishing and editorial software.

Travel: Quarterly travel may be required
Location: Remote | Headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI
