Job Description
The Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land is a peaceful and prayerful sacred space of pilgrimage and service rooted in the Catholic faith and the Franciscan tradition, located in the Brookland "Little Rome" neighborhood of Washington, DC. The Monastery and its partner nonprofit, the Commissariat for the Holy Land, serve as the U.S. fundraising and outreach arm of the Franciscan mission in the Holy Land. Through charitable support and public education, they help sustain Christian communities, maintain holy sites, and provide humanitarian, educational, and pastoral assistance throughout the region.The Monastery is seeking a full-time, in-person, on-site Donor Database & Gift Processing Manager to join our Mission Advancement team. Reporting to the Development Director, this individual will oversee our Raiser's Edge/NXT database and gift management process to ensure excellent donor advocacy. Preferred start date is immediate.

Key Responsibilities
Principal Database duties include but are not limited to:
• Maintaining database accuracy through careful entry and thoughtful cleanup of legacy data
• Improving database rules, structures and workflows to enhance data reporting and integrity
• Ensure confidentiality regarding donors and the internal business of the Monastery
• Use online data mining for missing or incomplete information to maintain database integrity
• Oversight of automated and manual gift entry across all giving platforms
• Depositing and proper coding of donations, including paper checks and electronic transactions
• Reconciliation of fundraising and accounting departmental data
• Generation of acknowledgement letters, year-end statements, and other mailings
• Vendor coordinator for appeals/gift letters
• Updating/maintaining online giving forms and event forms
• Production of donor/gift reports and queries
• Analysis of donor giving data
• Supervision of external vendors as needed
Development/Mission Advancement assistance includes but is not limited to:
• Supporting event planning and execution
• Assisting in special donor events or meetings, sometimes outside of normal working hours
• Donor relations and stewardship
• Planned/Legacy Giving Program - creation and maintenance assistance
• Responding to requests for information from donors and others in a friendly, professional manner
Required Qualifications, Skills, & Competencies:
• Very strong Raiser's Edge expertise
• 3 years or more of related experience, preferably in a development or nonprofit setting
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices in gift processing, stewardship, and donor relations
• Computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office 365
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Friendly and courteous demeanor with ability to take initiative and receive direction
• Employees must conduct themselves with integrity and act in a manner consistent with the official teachings, doctrines, laws and policies of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Employees must complete VIRTUS Training, including background check and fingerprinting.
Preferred Qualifications
• BA/BS degree preferred
• Graphic design and appeals management skills a plus
• Proficiency in MacOS a plus
• Experience managing external vendors
Work Schedule
• Full-time on site. Occasional evening or weekend availability for meetings and events.
Salary Range
• Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
