Job Description

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

*About Real Life Catholic*
Real Life Catholic exists to share the love of Jesus and help others do the same. Founded by internationally recognized Catholic speaker and author Chris Stefanick, Real Life Catholic reaches millions of people through compelling digital media, live events, practical faith resources, and a growing community of supporters known as Missionaries of Joy.

We're entering an exciting season of growth, including the national launch of CORE, an innovative Confirmation preparation program for teenagers, and an expanding digital ministry that reaches people around the world.

*About the Role *
The Social Media Manager will lead the day-to-day execution and organic growth of Chris Stefanick's and Real Life Catholic's social media presence. Working directly with the VP of Marketing and collaborating with our video production team, content creators, and external marketing partners, this person will help transform compelling long-form content, live events, and original ideas into engaging, platform-specific social media experiences.

This is not simply a content scheduling position. We're looking for someone who understands what makes content resonate, knows how to grow audiences organically, and is excited to create, experiment, learn, and continually improve results.

The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts, excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and a genuine passion for the Catholic faith.

*Key Responsibilities*
*Social Media Strategy & Execution*
-Execute and continuously refine the organic social media strategy developed in collaboration with the VP of Marketing.
-Manage day-to-day publishing, scheduling, and engagement across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, X, and other relevant platforms.
-Develop and maintain a coordinated editorial calendar aligned with organizational campaigns, content releases, events, and ministry priorities.
-Adapt messaging, creative formats, and publishing approaches to the unique audiences and algorithms of each platform.
-Identify emerging trends, platform features, and opportunities that could expand RLC's reach and influence.

*Content Creation & Creative Optimization*
-Work closely with RLC's video production and creative teams to identify compelling moments from Chris Stefanick's talks, weekly shows, interviews, podcasts, and live events.
-Capture, edit, and publish short-form video from Chris Stefanick's talks, weekly shows, interviews, podcasts, and live events.
-Design and develop engaging short-form videos, graphics, thumbnails, carousels, and other social-first content
-Write hooks, captions, and calls to action in Chris's voice that communicate Catholic teaching clearly and faithfully.
-Test new formats and repurpose existing content to improve reach, watch time, and sharing.
-Understand how storytelling, pacing, visual presentation, and strong opening moments influence video performance, and put that into action with creative cuts.
-Develop and test new content formats and creative approaches to improve reach, watch time, engagement, and sharing.
-Identify opportunities to repurpose existing content in fresh and compelling ways.

*Audience Growth & Community Engagement*
-Develop and execute tactics to grow qualified organic audiences across RLC's social platforms.
-Monitor and engage with comments, messages, mentions, and audience conversations, responding with warmth, clarity, and charity.
-Build meaningful connections with followers and help cultivate an engaged community around RLC's mission.
-Identify potential collaborations with Catholic creators, ministries, influencers, and partner organizations.
-Monitor conversations and emerging issues, exercising sound judgment and escalating sensitive matters when appropriate.
-Help RLC reach new audiences, including young adults, parents, seekers, and Catholics who may have become disconnected from their faith.

*Campaign & Ministry Support*
-Coordinate organic social media efforts with RLC's broader marketing campaigns, working closely with the VP of Marketing and external marketing partners.
-Support the national launch and continued growth of CORE, helping build awareness, interest, and engagement among parents, catechists, parish leaders, and Catholic communities.
-Help grow awareness of Missionaries of Joy, RLC's monthly supporter community, by communicating the impact of their generosity and inviting others to participate in the mission.
-Support the promotion of live events, books, digital courses, formation resources, and other ministry initiatives.
-Develop effective social media calls to action that guide interested audiences toward email subscriptions, ministry resources, CORE information, and opportunities to support RLC.
-Identify high-performing organic content that may be valuable for paid advertising campaigns.
-Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across social media, email, paid advertising, and the RLC website.

*Analytics, Testing & Performance*
-Monitor and analyze social media performance, including reach, follower growth, engagement, video retention, shares, saves, and referral traffic.
-Develop a regular reporting rhythm that highlights performance, emerging opportunities, and recommended improvements.
-Use data to identify successful content themes, formats, publishing approaches, and audience interests.
-Conduct ongoing creative testing to improve content performance.
-Collaborate with the VP of Marketing and external partners to understand how organic social media contributes to broader organizational objectives.
-Stay informed about platform changes, evolving audience behaviors, and social media best practices.

*Events & Special Projects*
-Provide social media coverage for selected Chris Stefanick events, ministry gatherings, and other important organizational initiatives.
-Capture or coordinate timely event content, including behind-the-scenes moments, short-form video, and audience engagement opportunities.
-Collaborate with production and marketing teams on special content initiatives.
-Be available for occasional evening, weekend, and travel commitments associated with major events or campaigns.

*Required Qualifications*
