Teachers Grades, 1, 3 and 4

Job Description

St. Bernadette Catholic Academy is seeking teachers for grades 1, 3, and 4, who are deeply committed to Catholic Education. We seek educators who will create engaging, rigorous lessons for the students that will foster a love of learning while challenging students to do their best.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement lesson plans that adhere to the New York State standards, utilizing a variety of techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the school's academic and faith-based goals.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes academic growth, spiritual growth, and character development.
Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students and to accommodate various learning styles.
Establish clear expectations for student behavior and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.
Communicate standards, achievements, and deficiencies through email, phone calls, conferences, and an electronic grade book on a consistent basis.

Qualifications

Hold a Bachelor's degree
Have NYS Certification or proof of pathway toward certification
Be a practicing Catholic who actively supports the mission of Catholic education

Employment Requirements (prior to start date):
Background check clearance
Signed Diocese of Brooklyn Code of Conduct
Completion of VIRTUS training
Up-to-date immunization record
Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal work authorization
