Job Description
Diocesan is seeking a Church Database Support Specialist on our Digital Products Team.This role supports Catholic parishes and diocesan offices by assisting clergy and parish staff with church management software used for parishioner records, sacramental data, contributions, and reporting.
This position is ideal for a Catholic professional who desires to use their technical, administrative, and communication skills in service of the Church's mission. This is a full-time, primarily in-office position located in Byron Center, Michigan. After completing an initial training period, the role is eligible for a hybrid schedule with remote work on Thursdays and Fridays.
Note:
-Only those candidates who live within a reasonable and commutable distance to Byron Center, MI will be considered. ("reasonable" has been defined as 30 minutes of the Metro Grand Rapids area.)
Compensation:
-This position is a full time benefits eligible hourly position.
-40 Hours weekly, Monday through Friday between 8am-6pm
Position Responsibilities:
-Provide technical and database support to Catholic parishes and diocesan offices
-Respond to support requests via phone and email with patience, professionalism, and pastoral sensitivity
Assist parish staff with:
-Parishioner and household records
-Sacramental records (Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, etc.)
-Contributions, pledges, and parish reports
-User access, permissions, and data integrity
-Document and manage support cases using CRM/ticketing software
-Communicate clearly with parish staff regarding issue status and resolution
-Lead parish onboarding sessions and provide software training to parish personnel
-Collaborate with fellow team members during weekly support meetings
-Carry out additional duties as needed in support of Diocesan's mission
Qualifications:
-Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church preferred.
-Familiarity with parish life, Catholic terminology, and diocesan structures
-Strong commitment to serving the Church with professionalism and integrity
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
-Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team
-Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
-Comfort working in a phone-based support environment
Preferred Experience & Technical Skills:
-Experience working in a parish, diocese, or Catholic organization
-Parish administrative or bookkeeping experience is strongly preferred
-Experience with church management software (PDS or similar systems preferred)
-Experience using CRM or support ticketing systems
-SQL and/or Microsoft Access experience strongly desired
-Solid understanding of database and data-entry best practices
