Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties* Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasked, including lifting 50 pounds, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. This is a highly active position with a lot of walking, bending, and lifting for long periods of time.
* Teamwork and Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively in a professional manner.
* Record Keeping: Maintaining basic records of work performed and materials used.
* Equipment Operations: Ability to safely and effectively operate a variety of grounds keeping equipment, tractor, chain saws, and power tools.
* Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area, equipment, including sweeping, mopping, and removing waste.
Following Instructions: Understand and follow instructions, but more importantly, having strong situational awareness and taking initiative in addressing whatever issues may arise.
* Problem-Solving & Time Management Skills: Ability to identify, resolve and maintain a schedule to fix basic problems on the job.
* Electrical and Plumbing: Ability to identify and fix basic electrical and plumbing issues: faucets, snake chains, leaks, replace fixtures/switches, circuit breakers and install toilets.
* Transportation: Pick up and drop off Retreat House guests to and from the airport.
Requirements and Overview:
This position is full-time but not limited to 40 hours a week. Expected hours of employment are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and occasional weekends. Room and board are provided. Must have a valid driver's license. Motor vehicle report and Live Scan will be required before an official offer can be made.
