Job Description

The Registrar acts as an important academic administrator of the school, reporting to and working closely with the Dean of the Pontifical Faculty. The registrar ensures the effective academic operations of the school, including the admission and enrollment of students, the ongoing assessment of programs, and the school's interactions with accrediting agencies. The position requires an individual who is detailed-oriented, collaborative, dependable, and adept at handling many varied responsibilities.

The role is an in-person, full-time position. Collaboration is a key part of the job, along with taking ownership of projects and exercising independent initiative and responsibility. This is a salaried position with health benefits and a 403b contribution. Salary is based on experience, skill level, and fittingness for the role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Dean in administering courses and examinations and in revising and publishing the school's policies
• Provide student enrollment services
• Maintain student records and issue transcripts
• Processes student applications for admission into degree programs
• Oversee resident visa processes
• Serve as accreditation liaison, coordinating with civil regulatory bodies and accrediting agencies
• Assemble and analyze data for ongoing institutional and programmatic assessment
• Assist in student financial aid, cooperating with the Treasurer
• Other duties as assigned by the Dean

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A bachelor's degree
• Demonstrated facility with recordkeeping and attention to details, especially quantitative ones
• Two years of experience in education, institutional administration, and/or statistical analysis
• Competence in Office programs (Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and in database management (e.g., Populi)
• Commitment to the Catholic identity and ecclesial mission of a pontifical faculty.
• The Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception at the Dominican House of Studies is an institution sponsored by the Dominican Friars of the Province of St. Joseph. The person holding this position will represent the PFIC and the Dominican friars in public, will bear witness to and teach the Catholic faith, and will at times participate in (and even lead others in) Catholic prayers. Applicants must be practicing Catholics in good standing who assent to and profess the Catholic faith in its entirety as presented in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
• This position is a full-time, in-office position in Washington, DC, and requires full-time residency in the greater Washington (DMV) area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with accreditation and assessment methods and tools
• Background in statistical methods and survey design
• Competence in Adobe InDesign
• Competence in some statistical program (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS, or Stata)
• Familiarity with the various sources of law and guidance for Catholic theological and ministerial formation

Salary: From $61,000 - $74,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Two weeks of paid vacation; in addition, PFIC employees receive paid leave for most public holidays and Catholic Solemnities (e.g., the Triduum, St. Joseph's Day, Immaculate Conception), plus from Dec. 21-Jan. 2 for the Christmas/New Year's holiday.
