Our Catholic nonprofit exists to help men recover from addiction through a program rooted in the Twelve Steps, Catholic spirituality, prayer, fellowship, and authentic Christian discipleship. We believe lasting recovery is found through a relationship with Jesus Christ, participation in the sacramental life of the Church, and the support of a loving community.

Position: House Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Onsite in Mesa, Arizona
Employment Type: Full time one year missionary commitment
Salary Range: $12k stipend (negotiable) plus room and board

Position Overview
We are seeking a faithful, compassionate Catholic man to serve as the Live-In House & Program Manager for a new Catholic recovery home in Mesa, Arizona. This is a missionary opportunity for someone who desires to accompany men on their journey from addiction to freedom through the principles of the Twelve Steps and the richness of the Catholic faith.
This position requires a one-year commitment and is ideal for someone who has personally experienced recovery from addiction and desires to help others encounter healing, accountability, and Christ-centered community.
The House & Program Manager will live in the home with up to four residents, helping to create a safe, structured, and faith-filled environment where men can grow spiritually, emotionally, and personally.

Who We Are
The Kolbe Mission grew out of decades of Catholic ministry to men battling addiction, with prayer and encouragement from local Church leaders since 2018.We are a lean but committed team of volunteers and leaders, united by our conviction that healing and freedom are possible through Christ. We are currently preparing to launch Phase I of our vision: starting our first recovery home in the Diocese of Phoenix. This home will serve six men, providing a stable environment of recovery, prayer, and fraternity. This milestone is just the beginning. Future phases will expand capacity to serve more men, add additional homes, and eventually establish a women's home and endowment.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
• Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
• Have a personal recovery story and lived experience overcoming addiction.
• Demonstrate emotional and spiritual maturity.
• Have a heart for ministry, discipleship, and serving others.
• Be comfortable living in community with residents.
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be dependable, organized, and able to exercise sound judgment.
• Be willing to collaborate in developing and improving the program.
• Pass any required background checks.

Key Responsibilities:
The House & Program Manager will:
• Live in the recovery home and model a healthy, faith-filled lifestyle.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming home environment.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents through encouragement, accountability, and accompaniment.
• Help develop and implement daily and weekly programming rooted in the Twelve Steps and Catholic spirituality.
• Lead or coordinate daily prayer opportunities, Scripture reflection, and community meetings.
• Encourage participation in Mass, the Sacraments, recovery meetings, and spiritual formation.
• Maintain appropriate household structure, routines, and expectations.
• Assist residents in developing healthy life skills and personal responsibility.
• Coordinate with ministry leadership regarding resident progress, house needs, and programming.
• Welcome volunteers, clergy, and community partners who support the ministry.
• Maintain appropriate records and communicate regularly with organizational leadership.

Work Schedule & Time Off
Because this is a live-in missionary position, the House & Program Manager is expected to be an active and engaged presence in the home while maintaining healthy personal boundaries and self-care.
The ministry leadership is committed to working collaboratively with the House & Program Manager to provide regular respite, scheduled time off, and opportunities for rest and renewal. Specific schedules and coverage will be developed together to ensure both the well-being of the House Manager and the consistent care of the residents.
