Job Description

Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, is seeking a Part-Time Associate to the Director of Religious Education. This ministry position supports the parish's mission of forming disciples of Jesus Christ by assisting with the administration and coordination of religious education programs.

Location: Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Seneca, SC
Hours: approximately 20 hours per week (flexible, with weekends required and occasional evenings)

Essential Responsibilities

Work with the Director of Religious Education in planning Religious Ed Pre-K - 12.
Maintain registration records, sacramental documentation, attendance, and confidential files.
Prepare class materials, certificates, correspondence, and program resources.
Communicate with parents, catechists, volunteers, clergy, and parish staff by phone, email, and written correspondence.
Help recruit, organize, and support catechists and volunteers.
Assist with religious education classes, retreats, liturgical celebrations, and parish events as needed.
Work with the Safe Environment coordinator to ensure compliance with diocesan Safe Environment policies
Order curriculum materials and maintain inventory of program supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Qualifications

Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church, committed to the teachings, mission, and values of the Catholic faith.
Demonstrates a mature Catholic faith and the ability to represent the parish in a positive and professional manner.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Spanish bilingual would be beneficial.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email, and standard office equipment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Experience working in a parish, Catholic school, or faith formation setting is preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, parish staff, volunteers, children, and families.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to move throughout parish facilities and assist with program setup and cleanup.
Availability for Sundays mornings, occasional evenings.
Compensation

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
