Job Description

Capuchin College Kitchen Utility Specialist

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Part-Time Kitchen Utility Specialist will support the chef with dish washing, food prep, and general hygiene of the kitchen area.

Responsibilities:

Break down lunch upon arrival to kitchen: Pack leftovers from lunch service, clean counters, wash dishes, setup tables for dinner service.

Prepare items for lunch service the next day: Clean fruit and set up the salad bar.

Stow food orders that arrive at the kitchen in an orderly manner.

Complete a final cleaning at the end of the day: Put away dishes, sweep floors, and wipe counters.

Schedule:
20 hours a week
Expected to be in the kitchen Monday-Friday, 2:30pm to 6:30pm
Occasional opportunities for weekend events

Benefits:
Location is Metro accessible.
The Kitchen Utility Specialist will be invited to take food home with them for dinner, after dinner has been served.
All cleaning products and materials for assisting the chef are provided. The kitchen has a dishwashing machine on site.
The Kitchen Utility Specialist will have opportunities to be trained by the chef.
Opportunities for advancement in the field of professional cooking.

Qualifications:
No qualifications are necessary. Only a willingness to assist the chef and assure that dishes are cleaned and put away.
