Job Description

Archangels Academy, an independent PREK-12 classical academy rooted in Catholic tradition, seeks a highly motivated, talented, and faith-filled, part-time PREK-12th grade physical education teacher for our 2026-27 academic year. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for one called to the formation and education of young hearts and minds.
Candidates should be comfortable leading physical education courses for a range of age levels.

All of these courses will focus on the following:
-physical fitness
-body fundamentals
-physical knowledge
-essential games and sports

Opportunities for this position to grow into a full-time position or be combined with other part-time positions are possible based on the candidate's skillset and the needs of the Academy.

Archangels Academy seeks to provide a high-quality classical education in the Catholic tradition for families that desire the pursuit of academic excellence combined with sound religious instruction in their Catholic Faith.

Job Summary:
Lead students to improved physical fitness with a focus on cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, and muscular strength.
Set students up for long-term bodily health by training them in flexibility, balance, good posture, and restorative movements.
Teach students about the basics of kinesiology and nutrition.

Help form students in the virtues of perseverance and fortitude through physical challenge.

Introduce age-appropriate games and sports to help foster camaraderie, communication, and respect.

Facilitate or lead learning in line and/or square dance for grades K-6.
Prepare a pacing guide to lead students to mastery throughout the year.
Lead the classroom and direct the learning environment for student success.
Communicate with parents and administration as to the students' progress.
Facilitate student learning using various teaching strategies including Socratic approaches.
Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, back-to-school nights, and other duties assigned by the Headmaster.

Requirements:
Candidate must be a practicing Catholic.
Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree.
Candidate with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience is preferred.
Experience in Catholic, classical, liberal arts education is preferred.
