Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Business Development and Philanthropy, the Director of Advancement will provide leadership in building and executing NCEA's efforts to secure financial support to advance its mission. The Director is responsible for developing an annual fund, supporting fundraising events, cultivating donor/foundation relationships, and seeking major gifts.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of experience working in nonprofits with a focus on advancement, fundraising, philanthropy or a related field.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology platforms
- Experience working with a CRM or similar platform (EX: Little Green Light, Greater Giving, or Raiser's Edge)

Responsibilities:
- Create, execute and evaluate an organization's advancement structure to ensure it supports the overall mission of NCEA
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve short- and long-term financial goals
- Lead annual giving campaigns, major donor programs and planned giving initiatives
- Collaborate with President's Office on fundraising for the annual gala
- Support the Senior Director of Business Development and Philanthropy in developing and managing an annual budget
- Analyze fundraising trends and identify opportunities for growth
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate sponsors and other funding partners
- Develop and oversee donor recognition programs to sustain long-term support
- Create strategies to increase donor retention and upgrade giving levels
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Department to develop fundraising collateral, campaigns and outreach materials
- Oversee development-related communications, including donor appeals, newsletters, impact reports and social media campaigns
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all philanthropic efforts
- Create and oversee a donor database to manage records, track donor engagement and measure fundraising outcomes
- Identify opportunities and effectively execute strategies for enhancing relationships with the philanthropic community, including past, current, and future donors
- Perform research on foundations and donors to evaluate prospects for foundation grants and philanthropic gifts
- Collaborate with other organizational staff to execute high-level cultivation and stewardship events
- Assist in the cultivation of NCEA Gala gift solicitation
- Direct solicitation of $1K+ gifts from individual donors
