Job Description

Do you want to serve the Church, grow in your faith, develop as a leader, build your network, travel the country, and get in on the ground floor of an exciting new organization?

If so, then you may be the perfect candidate to be the first Operations Manager for the Saint Sebastian Institute.

The Saint Sebastian Institute is a new apostolate that exists to forge courageous Catholic leaders for the Church. We adapt military leadership principles and experiential training methods to teach and empower clergy to be more effective leaders, all in service of the Great Commission. Our core team consists of devout West Point graduates, Special Operations veterans, experienced non-profit leaders, and military chaplains.

As we continue to expand our programs across the country, we are seeking an Operations Manager to enhance the organization's capacity and reach. This position is perfect for a driven, flexible, devout Catholic with a Bachelor's degree and 0-6 years of work or mission experience.

The Operations Manager will work closely with many experienced priests and leaders, both in the organization and in training venues, offering unparalleled leadership development, networking and growth opportunities. Regular performance and promotion reviews will provide feedback to facilitate the Operations Manager's growth.

The Operations Manager will largely work remotely. However, the Operations Manager is expected to participate in Saint Sebastian Institute training events, which include moderate physical demands, similar to hiking, camping and backpacking. As a bonus opportunity, firearms and medical familiarization may be provided as well.

This position is a paid, W-2 employee position for the Saint Sebastian Institute. Military experience is not required.

The role is responsible for the following:
• Own and manage the task system (Asana) across the organization
• Coordinate and execute logistics for training events and cohorts
• Manage volunteer coordination for events and ongoing support needs
• Execute social media posting and basic marketing workflows
• Compile, draft, and distribute the monthly newsletter
• Maintain and update donor and sponsor tracking systems (CRM or equivalent)
• Track and maintain progress on administrative and compliance requirements
• Support program development through research, drafting, and material preparation
• Prepare materials and follow-ups for sponsor and client outreach and partnerships
• Organize internal files, systems, and information flow (Drive, email, documentation)
• Additional duties (within reason) as directed by the Executive Director

Minimum Requirements for the Position:
- Fully committed to the Catholic Faith and the teachings of the Magisterium
- In good, active standing with the Catholic Church
- Strong desire to support the SSI Mission
- Embodies the SSI Core Values of Fidelity, Zeal, Humility and Sacrifice
- Bachelor's Degree (degrees oriented towards business are preferred)
- Strong writing and speaking skills (one-on-one or in a small group)
- Dedication to constant improvement

Next Steps
If you are interested in being considered for this position, please submit a current resume, as well as a one-page cover letter telling us more about you, and why you want to support our mission. If you are considered after the initial screening, we will set up time for a face-to-face (or Zoom) interview. We are seeking to fill this position quickly as we have training opportunities in the next few months that are ideal for the Operations Manager to attend.
