Director of Evangelization

Job Description

Overview:
The parish communities of Saints Anthony and Rocco Parish and Our Lady of Mount Carmel-which will become one parish, Saint John Paul II Parish, on July 1st, 2026-are looking for a Director of Evangelization. This new parish position will provide direct support to pastoral and parish staff in effectively creating and maintaining a culture of ministry, accompaniment, and evangelization in these Dunmore, PA parishes.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

• Serving as the administrator of the Hallow App for the parish communities by maximizing usage and potential for the app; in particular, maximizing the app's catechetical capabilities for the parish communities.
• Serve as the director of Youth and Young Adult education and ministry. It is the goal of our parish communities to foster greater engagement of our young people. The director of Youth and Young Adults is to create programs and prayer opportunities for young people.
• Work with Pastor and Assistant Pastor with creating bible studies, adult education experiences, and opportunities for parishioners to explore their faith.
• Work with the Assistant Pastor in coordinating Confirmation small group programming.
• Work with parish committee on annual Parish Mission experiences.
• Direct report to Pastor on new initiatives in the parish and visioning for an effective implementation of ministry.
• Practice of the Catholic faith is required. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Catholic Church and the policies of the Diocese of Scranton.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in a parish setting is a plus
