Art Teacher Job DescriptionThe School of Saint Elizabeth is a dynamic and innovative Catholic school serving students from Pre-K through Grade 8 and is committed to providing a challenging and nurturing learning environment. The School of Saint Elizabeth is seeking a creative, passionate, and student-centered Art Teacher to inspire and engage students through visual arts education. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, artistic expression, and appreciation for the arts while supporting the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students in a Catholic school environment.
Position Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with curriculum standards and grade-level expectations.
Teach a variety of artistic techniques, mediums, and concepts, including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and art history.
Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking through hands-on learning experiences.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
Create a positive, organized, and respectful classroom environment that promotes artistic exploration and student confidence.
Display student artwork throughout the school and coordinate art-related events, showcases, or exhibitions.
Integrate technology and cross-curricular connections when appropriate.
Assess student progress regularly and provide meaningful feedback to students and families.
Maintain classroom materials, supplies, and equipment in an organized and safe manner.
Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parents to support student growth and school initiatives.
Uphold and support the mission, values, and Catholic identity of the school.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
Valid teaching certification.
Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and continued professional growth.
Appreciation for and support of Catholic education and values.
Preferred Qualities
Enthusiasm for working with children and encouraging artistic growth.
Ability to inspire creativity while maintaining high expectations for student learning and behavior.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
