Job DescriptionThe School of Saint Elizabeth is a dynamic and innovative Catholic school, serving students from Pre-K through Grade 8, and is committed to providing a challenging and nurturing learning environment. The Pre-K4 Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, faith-filled, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for four-year-old students. The teacher fosters the spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical growth of each child while supporting the school's mission and philosophy.
The Pre-K4 Teacher promotes kindergarten readiness through engaging instruction, structured routines, hands-on learning, and positive relationships with students and families.
Essential Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood standards and school curriculum.
Teach foundational literacy, math, language, motor, and social-emotional skills.
Create hands-on learning centers and interactive classroom activities.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse developmental needs of students.
Utilize age-appropriate assessments to monitor student growth and readiness skills.
Foster curiosity, creativity, independence, and a love of learning.
Classroom Environment
Maintain a safe, organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom.
Establish clear routines and positive behavior expectations.
Supervise students at all times, including recess, lunch, dismissal, and school activities.
Encourage positive peer relationships and conflict resolution skills.
Promote student confidence, responsibility, and self-help skills.
Faith Formation
Support and uphold the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
Model Christian values and respectful behavior.
Integrate faith-based values, prayer, and Catholic teachings into daily classroom activities.
Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and religious activities.
Communication and Collaboration
Maintain positive and professional communication with parents and guardians.
Provide regular updates regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance student learning.
Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Valid teaching certification.
Experience working with preschool or early childhood students.
Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
