Job Description
St. Agnes Cathedral School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 8th Grade Earth Science Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming school year.The ideal candidate will be passionate about science and committed to providing students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences while preparing them for success on the New York State Earth Science Regents Examination.
Responsibilities include:
Provide engaging and rigorous Earth Science instruction to 8th grade students
Plan and conduct hands-on laboratory experiences aligned with the NYS Earth Science standards
Prepare students for the Earth Science Regents Examination
Develop lessons that encourage scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving
Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback
Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in the life of the school community
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Earth Science, Science Education, or a related field
New York State teaching certification preferred
Experience teaching Earth Science and/or preparing students for the Regents Examination preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St. Agnes Cathedral School
