DePaul School for Hearing and Speech is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Education Director/Principal to serve as the school's chief instructional leader for its Pre-K through Grade 8 educational program.
This is an opportunity to lead a specialized Listening and Spoken Language program while building upon DePaul's strong tradition of educational excellence. The Education Director/Principal will partner with the Executive Director and Leadership Team to advance educational priorities, support faculty and clinical staff, strengthen family and community partnerships, and foster a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and student-centered school culture that promotes continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide instructional leadership for the Pre-K-8 educational program, including curriculum implementation, assessment, instructional programming, and student outcomes.
Promote a student-centered educational environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, communication, and developmental needs of students.
Recruit, hire, onboard, supervise, coach, and evaluate instructional and clinical staff.
Lead professional development and the school's PDE-approved New Teacher Induction Program.
Oversee IEP development, implementation, compliance, and progress monitoring in accordance with applicable requirements.
Support student recruitment, admissions, enrollment planning, and retention.
Promote effective use of instructional and assistive technology.
Maintain compliance with applicable Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements.
Develop and monitor the Education Department budget and instructional resources.
Build strong relationships with students, families, referral sources, educational institutions, clinical providers, and community partners.
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Leadership Team on strategic planning and educational priorities.
Represent DePaul within local, state, and national educational communities.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration and Supervision, or a related field.
Valid Pennsylvania PK-12 Principal certification.
Valid Pennsylvania Hearing Impaired PK-12 certification.
Minimum of three years of successful educational leadership experience.
Experience in instructional leadership, staff development, and organizational management.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and DePaul School.
Preferred Qualifications
Practicing and active Catholic with a commitment to Catholic education and the mission of DePaul School.
Five or more years of teaching experience with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Experience with educational innovation, instructional technology integration, or organizational improvement.
Experience in a Listening and Spoken Language program or specialized educational setting serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
