Position Mission

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications, the Communications and Media Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the brand story of FOCUS. This position requires a strategic and collaborative leader with a passion for media and communications, capable of overseeing a high-performing team. The Communications and Media Manager will focus on channel integration, cross-functional collaboration, brand storytelling, and digital presence oversight to maximize brand impact and reach.

Position Responsibilities

Campaign Planning and Integration:
Spearhead development of innovative media campaigns that further FOCUS' mission through seamlessly integrating media channels such as social, PR, web/email, paid, and video.
Organize and collaborate with departments to mutually accomplish goals for campaigns.
Oversee implementation of campaigns

Brand Storytelling:
Oversee integration of the brand story and promise through communication channels.
Work on the FOCUS parent brand evolution.
Craft and review messages and narratives to resonate with our target audiences, ensuring brand messaging is consistent and impactful across all media channels.

Crisis Communications:
Manage crisis communications plans and protocols.
Act as operational manager during a crisis.

Brand Management:
Oversee the organization's brand identity, ensuring consistency in messaging, visuals, and tone.
Develop and enforce brand guidelines.

Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments such as Formation, Formative Enterprise, Lifelong Mission, HR, and MD to align communication efforts with broader organizational objectives.
Collaborate with external partners, agencies, or vendors as needed.

Metrics and Analysis:
Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies.
Use data and feedback to continuously improve communication initiatives.

Content Creation:
Oversee the creation of press releases, articles, speeches, and other communication materials.
Ensure consistency in messaging across all communication channels.

Compensation & Benefits:
For this role, we anticipate paying $60,000 - $75,000/year. (This role is also eligible for bonus pay.) This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.

Personal Mission Partner Development (MPD) is one way in which the FOCUS Mission Foundation invites others to be on mission with us through the gift of their financial support. In this position, the Marketing Communications and Media Manager will be expected to fundraise a minimum of $3,260 per month to support their work with the FOCUS Mission Foundation. About the Employer

The FOCUS Mission Foundation Marketing team supports the mission of FOCUS by communicating with students, benefactors, staff, and others. The Marketing Program Director plans, monitors, and manages various projects, often from initiation through completion. He or she typically juggles multiple projects at a time, overseeing execution by Marketing team members and external vendors, ensuring that work meets technical, budgetary, and timing needs.
