About CCC:Since 1923, Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC)has provided life-changing human services to vulnerable individuals and families throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. CCC offers quality and compassionate human services to all people, especially the most vulnerable, regardless of faith. We are passionate about the work we do in our communities, providing 31 critical services at 11 locations throughout Virginia.
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting social workers and/or foster parents by providing counseling and/or supportive services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Provides transportation to clients for visits, recreational outings, emergencies and other activities as needed and coordinated by social worker.
Assists social worker in coordinating and/or implementing program activities for clients and caregivers as assigned.
Assist foster parents and social workers in designing and implementing treatment plans to include working one on one with the child and providing any needed direct services.
Prepares and maintain reports and case histories for Agency and referral agencies.
Participates in supervision/staff meetings and other relevant meetings and/or trainings as required.
(Supportive Services) Provide supervision for visitation between parent and child to ensure safety of the visit. Assess quality of interactions and provide written reports as required.
(Supportive Services) Provide on-going contact with clients and caregivers through phone contact and face to face contacts as instructed by social worker.
Represents the Agency in the community and workplace in a professional and ethical manner.
Demonstrates sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, oral, and written skills.
Utilizes a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required with one year of related experience. Must have the ability to speak English and Spanish.
