Elementary School Principal
Kansas City, MO

Description
The Principal at Our Lady of Hope leads one of two Bright Futures schools in the Diocese of Kansas City - St Joseph, serving urban core families who desire a private, Catholic education for their children PreK-8th grade. With enrollment of approximately 150 students, the principal will work with the Superintendent of Schools and the Executive Director of Bright Futures, to meet the spiritual and academic needs of the students and support a dynamic faculty and staff.

Essential Functions
• Nurture the faith development of faculty and staff through opportunities for doctrinal, liturgical, and spiritual growth.
• Ensure quality Catholic religious instruction of students at all levels especially through the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
• Promote a Catholic community with parents, students, faculty and staff through the witness of prayer, sacrifice, sacramental unity and fellowship.
• Know the mission, history, and purpose of Catholic Education in the Church, especially the history of Catholic Education in the United States.
• Supervise and monitor the implementation of the Diocesan academic and religion curriculum.
• Evaluate and monitor the academic effectiveness of the curriculum.
• Maintain a continuous plan of assessment/evaluation of student learning.
• Recruit, interview, select, and provide an orientation for school faculty and staff.
• Evaluate and provide professional development for the faculty and staff on an on-going basis throughout the year.
• Plan and manage the school's financial resources including grant writing, tuition collection, and recruiting students for the MoScholars program.
• Prepare the annual budget with the CSO and Bright Futures Executive Director.
• Implement a short-term and long-range enrollment plan to increase the number of students and families served at Our Lady of Hope.
• Apply long-range planning strategies in developing plans for the school.

• Promote a sense of collaboration and teamwork; share information and learning; keep others informed to help promote Diocese strategy and goals.
Requirements
• Master's Degree in Education.
• Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church; includes faithful obedience to the Magisterium.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in Catholic school.
• State certification/license in administration.
