Job Description

PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN I
Full-time, onsite in Irondale (Birmingham), AL. Not remote-eligible.

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As Production Technician I, you will deliver vital technical assistance for EWTN's studio and field productions. This entry-level role supports camera operation, audio, lighting, and set setup. Under the guidance of senior technical personnel, the Production Technician I plays a key role in maintaining seamless and effective production processes while supporting the overall mission.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Help set up and operate cameras, audio systems, lighting, and other production equipment for both studio and remote shoots.
• Assist technical crews during live and recorded productions by carrying out designated tasks.
• Prepare sets and production areas, including handling cabling, rigging, and proper placement of gear.
• Check equipment functionality and quickly report any problems to technical supervisors.
• Support the teardown and storage of equipment after productions.
• Keep production areas clean and orderly, following established safety guidelines.
• Operate equipment under supervision, such as teleprompters, video switchers, or audio boards, as training allows.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to help bring the production's vision to life.
• Uphold EWTN's Catholic values through respectful and mission-aligned service in all tasks.

ABOUT YOU:
• Basic understanding of television production equipment and techniques.
• Willing to learn and follow technical protocols with attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church; supportive of EWTN's mission.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Possess a High school diploma or equivalent.
• An Associate degree or technical certification in Television Production, Media Technology, or related field is highly preferred.
