Job Description
IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN IIBirmingham, AL / Onsite
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As IT Support Technician (Tier 2), you will strengthen the operational effectiveness of the Network by ensuring employees have reliable, secure, and well-maintained technology systems. Serving as a key point of contact for end users, you will resolve technical issues efficiently and proactively, minimizing downtime and supporting seamless day-to-day operations. Your expertise in hardware, software, and operating systems will directly contribute to a stable and productive work environment across the organization.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• You will install, upgrade, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment across Windows, and MacOS platforms. This includes supporting Microsoft 365 and other authorized applications, as well as imaging and deploying systems using approved tools and methodologies.
• Acting as a responsive and solutions-oriented resource, you will diagnose and resolve technical issues in person, by phone, or through remote access, taking full ownership of assigned tickets through resolution.
• You will monitor trends in support requests to anticipate recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
• In addition, you will train and guide end users on proper operation of hardware and software, maintain working knowledge of approved systems and applications, and ensure client devices with authorized network access are properly supported, restored, and maintained.
ABOUT YOU:
• You bring at least three years of hands-on experience supporting PC hardware and operating systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• You hold an Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience supporting Macintosh hardware and software is a plus.
• Technically strong and analytically minded, you are skilled at diagnosing problems, prioritizing multiple tasks, and delivering practical solutions with precision and efficiency.
• You communicate clearly and professionally, demonstrate a friendly and service-oriented attitude when assisting end users, and take pride in providing dependable information services support.
• You are physically able to lift and handle equipment up to 50 pounds.
• A demonstrated knowledge of the Catholic faith and an affinity for the Network's mission are preferred, reflecting alignment with the organization's values and purpose.
