Job Description
Job Overview:A parish of 850 households on a university campus in central Wisconsin is looking for a person to be Liturgist at a progressive Catholic parish where lay people are deeply engaged with liturgy.
Requirements
1. A living faith in Jesus Christ and the ability to share that faith with others.
2. A practicing Catholic.
3. An adult level of understanding of the Catholic faith.
4. A Bachelor's Degree in Liturgy or related field required.
5. A Master's Degree in Liturgy preferred.
6. Readiness to get certified as a Liturgist if degree is not in Liturgy.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills.
8. Proficiency in the use of technology for communicating.
9. A willing and compassionate team player.
10. Able to manage a very variable work schedule that will include evenings and weekends while keeping close to 40 hours a week.
Responsibilities
1. Directs parish worship, including the planning of liturgical seasons and sacramental celebrations.
2. Serves on the parish staff and parish Leadership Team. The parish is engaged with the Divine Renovation model of parish renewal.
3. Provides leadership and assistance to the parish Sacred Worship Committee.
4. Coordinates all liturgical ministers: presiders, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, servers, musicians, sacristans, and ushers.
5. Oversees the aesthetic decor and cleanliness of the worship space, the provision of sacred vessels and vestments, the maintenance of instruments, sound system, and liturgical resources.
6. Prepares and manages the Sacred Worship budget.
