LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT
Royal Palm Academy, Naples Florida
Full-Time, 10-Month, Hourly Position
Starting at: $23/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Royal Palm Academy, a joyful and thriving independent Catholic PK-8 school in Naples, Florida, is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a 10-month, hourly position with full-time benefits.

Royal Palm Academy partners with families to provide an education of rich academics with Catholic formation. We teach the mind, educate the heart, and form the character of tomorrow's leaders.

This position is designed for a capable, flexible, and student-centered educator who enjoys working directly with students and supporting their academic growth. The Learning Support Assistant will provide scheduled one-on-one and small-group learning support under the direction of the Student Support Coordinator.

Position Overview
The Learning Support Assistant is an instructional support role focused primarily on helping students access instruction, build skills, and make academic progress. This person will work directly with students individually and in small groups, as scheduled and supervised by the Student Support Coordinator.

This role is ideal for a teacher, former teacher, learning support aide, interventionist, paraprofessional, or education graduate who wants to play a meaningful role in helping students grow in confidence, skill, and independence within a joyful, mission-driven school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Student Learning Support
• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support to students as scheduled.
• Reinforce teacher-directed instruction and help students practice and strengthen skills.
• Support student growth in areas such as reading, writing, math, attention, organization, and work habits, as appropriate.
• Help students remain engaged, encouraged, and successful during support sessions.

Instructional Partnership
• Work in close collaboration with the Student Support Coordinator to implement student support plans and scheduled interventions.
• Partner with classroom teachers to support student learning and follow-through.
• Help prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized support environment.
• Provide flexible support across multiple grade levels and classrooms based on school needs.

Student Encouragement and School Support
• Build positive, encouraging relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries.
• Support students in growing in confidence, independence, persistence, and appropriate school habits.
• Help contribute to a calm, orderly, and student-centered learning environment.
• Supervise and support students in classrooms and other school settings as assigned.

Catholic Identity and Mission
• Know, support, and act consistently in accordance with the mission, philosophy, and expectations of Royal Palm Academy.
• Model kindness, professionalism, virtue, and respect in daily interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
• Support the Catholic identity of the school through example, participation, and a spirit of service.

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma required.
• Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, tutoring, or youth-serving setting.
• Ability to work effectively with students one-on-one and in small groups.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with students and adults.
• Reliable, organized, flexible, and responsive.
• Able to support instruction under the direction of the Student Support Coordinator and school leadership.
• Strong alignment with the mission and values of Royal Palm Academy.

Preferred Qualifications
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• Prior experience as a teacher assistant, paraprofessional, tutor, learning support aide, interventionist, or classroom teacher.
• Experience supporting elementary-aged students, especially in reading and math.
• Experience in a Catholic school or independent school setting.
• Familiarity with elementary instructional practices and classroom routines.

• Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and clear communication in an active school environment.

Position Details
• Full-time, 10-month, hourly position.
• Hiring range: Starting at $23/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Eligible for full-time employee benefits.
• Scheduled and supervised by the Student Support Coordinator.
• On-campus position in Naples, Florida.
• School-year position following the academic calendar.
