Job Description

Holy Family Classical School seeking a High School and Middle School Biology and Life Science teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This ministerial, teaching position will report to the Head of the School.

This position is a part-time position which may become a full-time position in combination with other high school positions for a qualified teacher. This teacher will have the opportunity to participate in the ongoing development of the high school's classical humane letters curriculum.

The 2024-2025 school year will be the third year of Holy Family Classical School's High School program, with students in grades 9-11. One High School Biology course and one 6th Grade Life Science course will be offered in 2024-2025, with the possibility of a course offered in Environmental Science in future years.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A practicing Catholic in good standing who is joyfully striving to live according to Christ's words;
• Fidelity to the Magisterium in thought, word, and deed;
• Familiarity with classical educational methods and/or openness to learning about and implementing the same;
• Bachelor's degree in a related field and teaching certification or willingness to obtain certification or alternative licensure; Master's degree or higher is highly desirable but not required.

• Understand, appreciate, and implement positive discipline in the context of virtue-ethics;

Interpersonal Relationships:
• Work cooperatively and effectively with the administration and staff;
interact with students in a joyful, respectful, friendly, and just manner;
create and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with parents;
• Keep parents informed regarding student progress;
• Establish and maintain regular communication with parents and guardians

• Maintain professionalism in appearance, grooming, words, manners, and actions;

• Maintain diocesan VIRTUS/CYP certification (ongoing annually);
• Fulfill responsibilities as assigned in the spirit of the school's Catholic, classical mission.
