Job Description

This position has a ministerial character that requires levels of virtue and decency that reflect conformity with Catholic teachings regarding faith and morality. In the same way, the person is required to observe diocesan and parochial norms and practices established to protect the integrity of children, youth, and people in vulnerable situations, as well as promote human, spiritual, and moral development in the youth as envisioned by the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church in a creative and dynamic fashion.

Job Responsibilities:
Instruct students in Kindergarten through 8th grade art Teach and have expertise in a variety of mediums in art Organize and plan for an annual art show Support homeroom teachers with content area
Uphold and commit to the Teachings of the Catholic Church
Infuse Catholic Social Teachings in the curriculum for a wholistic approach to education
Knowledge of curriculum guidelines and subject matter
Plan and prepare for lessons clearly and effectively
Evaluate student progress
Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning
Supervise students and manage student behavior
Inform parents of student progress
Continue professional development
Attend faculty meetings, parent meetings and participate in committees
Assume responsibilities outside the classroom as designated by contract and handbooks
Maintain student records on FACTS
Present material in a variety of formats to meet the needs of diverse learners

Education and Experience:
College degree in Visual Arts or Education; Teaching Certification preferred.
