Job Description

The position has a ministerial character that requires levels of virtue and decency that reflect conformity with Catholic teachings regarding faith and morality. In the same way, the person is required to observe diocesan and parochial norms and practices established to protect the integrity of children, youth, and people in vulnerable situations as well as promote human, spiritual, and moral development in the youth as envisioned by the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church in a creative and dynamic fashion.

Job Responsibilities:
Theology instruction for two sections each of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, in addition to a homeroom position
Serve as a bridge between the parish and school to further unite the campus and plug students into parish life.
Teach and guide students how to pray.
Integrate a disposition of discipleship and mission in the instruction.
Promote a spirit of prayer, spiritual development, and service in the students.
Plan and lead engagement opportunities for parents of the middle school to become more active in the faith life
of their children.
Support the mission and philosophy of the school.
Uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Knowledge of curriculum guidelines and subject matter.
Plan and prepare lessons clearly and effectively.
Manage grading and updating of FACTS grade book.
Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning.
Manage student behavior.
Participate on committees.
Attend faculty meetings, parent meetings and participate in professional development as requested.
Assume responsibilities outside the classroom as designated in contracts and handbook.

Education and/or Experience:
College degree in Theology or Education; Teaching Certification preferred
