Job Description

I. Qualifications
• A Catholic in good standing committed to the Catholic faith and to Christian living or others who have a positive attitude toward the Catholic faith and a commitment to Christian living.
• Hold a valid Oklahoma State Department of Education certification. Exceptions must have the approval of the Superintendent of Catholic Schools
• Those who teach formal religion classes must be Catholics in good standing. They must work toward and attain the appropriate level of religious certification required by the Diocesan Office of Religious Formation.

II. Job Responsibilities

• To support and implement the philosophy of Catholic education;
• To give evidence of lived Gospel values;
• To participate in building community.

Instructional Process
• To demonstate knowledge of curriculum guidleline and subject matter;
• To demonstrate evidence of prior planning and preparation;
• To present lessons clearly and effectively
• To use instructional time effiently and effectively;
• To evaluate student progress effectively;
• To provide for individual differences;
• To demonstrate ability to motivate students;
• To maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning;
• To manage student behavior in a constructive manner.

Interpersonal Relationships
• To demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with students;
• To demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with other staff members;
• To demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with the principal, pastor and Diocesan staff;
• To demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with parents and parishioners.

Professional Relationships
• To follow the policies and regulations of the Diocese of Tulsa and the school;
• To assume responsibilities outside the classroom as designated in the Teacher Contract;
• To demonstrate professional responsibility and continue professional development as defined by the Diocese of Tulsa and through North Central or the Oklahoma State Department of Education, through which accreditation is currently received.

Additional Responsibilites
• To discharge other duties and manage other projects as may be requested by the Principal.

III. Accountability
• The teacher is hired by, supervised and directly accountable to the Principal
