Job Description
The Anthony and Alice Agnone School of Education at Mount St. Mary's University is conducting a search for a full-time faculty member in the field of special education. The position may be filled at the Lecturer, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level depending on the candidate's education, professional experience, and scholarly record. The successful candidate should possess an earned doctorate in special education. The candidate will have the knowledge and skills to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in special education and secondary literacy. In addition to teaching, the candidate may have opportunities to provide supervision to initial teacher students. It is preferred that a candidate has experience in teaching in PK-12 school settings. Teacher education faculty work closely with school system partners to develop educators who are proficient in content and pedagogy, reflective, ethical and dedicated to leadership in an increasingly diverse technological and global society. The successful candidate will be expected to advise students through program completion.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The teaching requirement for this 10-month contract is 21 credits between the Fall and Spring semesters. If hired as a Lecturer, the teaching requirement is 24 credits. All faculty are expected to serve the Mount by participating in school and university-wide committees, advising students majoring in the school's programs, developing course curriculum, participating in assessment, remaining current in their discipline, and performing other duties as assigned.

Annual Starting Salary: $50,000
The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Final appointment (Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor, and/or tenure track) and salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and academic rank.
