Job Description
Job OverviewOpenlight Media is a digital and print production company located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Openlight Media is dedicated to supporting and advancing the mission of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist and the faith-filled lay men and women who embrace the Dominican charism of Veritas (truth), by developing educational and inspirational content. Our professionally produced videos, music, and content extend into classrooms and living rooms worldwide. While we do not require employees to adhere to a specific religious faith, applicants should understand they will be working in, and should be comfortable working in, an environment where faith-based principles may be openly discussed, and will be promoting messaging aligned with our religious values and mission.
Our video team is currently in need of a full-time professional who can alternate between cinematography and editing as needed. The right candidate will be equally comfortable in the worlds of production and post-production, and able to anticipate how these two stages of a project influence each other.

Key Role Functions and Responsibilities
Includes but is not limited to:
• Collaboration with studio manager and video team in:
o Creating and executing production plans for various projects including (but not limited to)
online courses
live-to-tape video podcasts
short-form documentaries
o Maintaining processes for ideation, execution, revision, delivery and archiving
o Ensuring projects are completed on schedule and to agreed specifications - often multiple projects simultaneously
• On-set camera operation, lighting setup, and occasionally talent direction
• Editing and other post-production duties, in tandem with the rest of the video team
• Regular updates on project progress to studio manager and executive director
• Careful tracking and timely implementation of revision requests
Qualifications for this role
• 3+ years' experience in video production, including cinematography, camera operation and editing
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, including (but not limited to)
o Multicam sequences
o Keyframing
o MOGRT implementation
• Basic familiarity with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Audition
• Strong understanding of DIT fundamentals such as
o Data safety
o Version control
o File organization
o Codecs and other deliverable specs
• Strong communication skills and collaborative spirit
• A can-do attitude and willingness to adapt to shifting schedules/priorities
• Commitment to work within the values of the Roman Catholic Church
• Reel, website or YouTube/Vimeo profile with examples of prior work
Experience with any of the following is helpful but not required:
• Live or live-to-tape production
• Production of online courses and/or documentaries
• Sony video and/or cinema cameras, especially A7 and FX series
• Blackmagic products, especially DaVinci Resolve and ATEM switchers
